What Should I Expect During My First Chiropractic Visit?

Your first visit at The Flow is not about rushing you onto a table and giving you an adjustment.

It begins with getting to know you.

I want to understand who you are, what you’re experiencing, and what you’re hoping to get back to in your life.

First, We Listen

We’ll start with a conversation about your health history and what brought you in.

Of course, we’ll talk about your main concerns, symptoms, injuries, and pain. But I also want to know more about you.

What are your health goals?

What activities bring you joy?

What do you want your body to be able to do?

What does living well look like for you?

Sometimes the most important pieces of your health story aren’t found on a form. They’re found in conversation.

Then, We Examine

After your history, we’ll perform a thorough examination to better understand how your body is functioning.

Depending on your needs, this may include orthopedic and neurological testing, posture and movement assessment, and evaluation of the spine, muscles, and nervous system.

If upper cervical care is appropriate, we may also use CBCT 3D imaging to take a detailed look at the upper cervical spine.

Imaging isn’t automatically necessary for everyone. When it is appropriate, it gives us additional information that can help us make a more precise and individualized recommendation.

Your First Adjustment

Once we understand your history and examination findings, we’ll discuss what we’re seeing and what we believe may be helpful.

If an adjustment is appropriate, you’ll receive your first adjustment during the initial visit.

Depending on your needs, we may also discuss other therapies available at The Flow, such as craniosacral therapy, myofascial work, shockwave therapy, or other supportive approaches.

There isn’t one technique that is right for everyone.

Your care should fit you.

Creating Small, Lasting Shifts

My approach is not simply about chasing pain from one visit to the next.

I want to understand what your body is doing, why it may be struggling, and what we can do together to create meaningful change.

Whether we’re working with the spine, nervous system, fascia, breath, movement, or the body’s subtle patterns, I approach each person as a whole.

I believe the body has an incredible capacity to adapt and heal when we create the right conditions for it.

Sometimes healing happens through a big change.

More often, it happens through small shifts repeated over time.

A little more ease.

A little more mobility.

Better awareness.

Better recovery.

More connection with your body.

And eventually, more freedom to live the life you want.

Your First Visit Is the Beginning of a Relationship

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what’s wrong with you.

You don’t need to know which technique you need.

That’s what we’re here to explore together.

My job is to listen carefully, examine thoroughly, explain what I find, and create a thoughtful plan with you.

You bring your story.

I bring my knowledge, my hands, and my attention.

And together, we discover what your body needs to move toward greater health and flow.
